A Personal Reflection on Boldness, Obedience & Divine Fire

“Do not quench the Holy Spirit.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Sis… whew. That one sits deep, doesn’t it? Not as a warning, but as a divine invitation.
Don’t silence the voice that’s been guiding you all along. Don’t pour water on the fire that’s meant to light up your whole life.

This message isn’t just for quiet time or prayer circles. It’s for the boardroom, the leadership retreat, the investor meeting, the pitch call, and the C-suite strategy session too.

Because so many of us—especially high-performing women in professional spaces—have felt the whisper of Spirit telling us to speak up, to shift direction, or to walk away... and we’ve overridden it to stay polished and appropriate.

“God doesn’t only move in churches—He moves in conference rooms, corporate offices, and Zoom rooms.”

And the more we listen, the more we realize: Spiritual intelligence is leadership intelligence.

Here’s how the Spirit began to show up in my life:

  • In my late 20s, I started noticing a deep, intuitive “knowing.” I just called it a sixth sense.
Honestly? It scared me. I was walking around my apartment in Milan, minding my business, when suddenly—I knew I had to act. No logic. Just obedience.

  • Later, still in my 20s, the Holy Spirit woke me up in Atlanta and said: “Get up. Get it out of the house.” No explanation. Just urgency. I told Rick, and he got up and did it. It was 2:00 in the morning.

  • In my late 30s, I had already experienced the unimaginable—losing my third child in a tragic pool accident. Two years later, one day in the shower, I heard clearly: “Everything you have lost will be restored unto you.” I didn’t fully understand it. But I held onto it because it felt good. Six weeks later, I heard those same words at church—and I knew I was pregnant. Today, I’m honored to be Joshua’s mother.

  • In my late 40s, while sitting under the dryer (yes, the Holy Spirit speaks at the beauty shop too), I heard the mandate that changed everything:

Chloé, be bold. Be powerful. Be truthful. And share your knowledge.

Two years later, we released the Personal Excellence Profile (PEP)—now the #1 human development and frequency alignment tool in the world. More than an assessment, PEP is a tech-enabled, spiritually intelligent platform that helps individuals, teams, and organizations elevate through presence, perception, and purpose.

Even with all that, I still tried to quiet the downloads, overthink the nudges, and keep things “professional.” I was pouring water on the flame. I was quenching the Spirit. Until one day—about 9 years ago—I was debriefing a woman’s PEP results, and the "hunch" and “knowing” was too strong to ignore. So I shared it—playfully, intuitively, without attachment, but tentatively. And it was transformational for her.

Now, I don’t just coach. I perceive.

I read between the dots, the numbers, lines, words, and behind the smiles. I tune into what’s visible and what’s invisible. I practice presence with softness, self-awareness, and yes—playfulness. And if you’re reading this as a professional woman, a high-level leader, or a creative with big vision—please hear this:

You’re not imagining those nudges.

That insight in the meeting…
That shift in energy you sensed…
That inner voice telling you to pause, pivot, or speak?

That’s real, Sis. That’s Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is not limited to sacred spaces.
He is always available—in the stillness, in the strategy, and in the moment you trust what He gave you.

So Let Me Ask Us Both:

  • How many times have we felt the nudge—and ignored it?

  • How many times have we known it was the Spirit—and still talked ourselves out of it?

  • How often have we chosen comfort over calling?

We don’t have to be perfect. We just have to stop dimming the light.
