Identity & Self-Perception
Seeing who you are, where perception is distorted, and what greater alignment requires.
The runway taught me presence. Writing taught me meaning. Coaching taught me to see what operates beneath behavior.
Over time, those threads became one body of work — understanding how identity, perception, human capability, decisions, and action come into alignment.
What looked like separate chapters was always one inquiry.
The work has always been about helping people become more fully themselves.
The Body of Work
For decades, my work has centered on one question: what helps a person become more coherent in who they are, how they perceive, and how they move?
Today, those disciplines converge inside Human Alignment.
Seeing who you are, where perception is distorted, and what greater alignment requires.
Understanding how inner alignment becomes visible through presence, communication, and expression.
Strengthening the abilities beneath decision quality, trust, communication, execution, and leadership.
Reading the internal signals influencing choices, relationships, timing, and response.
Turning human insight into diagnostics, frameworks, digital experiences, and scalable systems.
Different disciplines. One body of work.
After the loss of my son Justin, I entered years of grief counseling, spiritual development, study, and personal transformation. What followed was not a straight career path. It was a deeper education in the human experience.
Coaching, books, image work, leadership development, international experiences, and decades of working with people gradually became one integrated body of practice.
In 2024, that body of work became The PEP Institute™ — the home of the Personal Excellence Profile™ and the work I now describe as Human Alignment.
It was my earliest study of presence, perception, identity, and alignment.
My professional life began in fashion after a college internship in the San Francisco Bay Area. From there came runways, global cities, and rooms that required far more than beauty — awareness, timing, confidence, restraint, and presence.
I worked in spaces shaped by Gianfranco Ferré, Giorgio Armani, Bill Blass, Escada, Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabbana, and Missoni.
Fashion became a living study of identity, perception, poise, and image power.
I learned what people communicate before they ever speak — and what happens when outer expression agrees with inner truth.
Image became my first language for alignment.
After the transition of my son Justin, presence could no longer be external. Life required an inner architecture capable of holding grief, faith, family, body, breath, and truth.
That season later became part of my memoir, I Can Laugh Again: From the Valley of Grief to a Glimpse of Heaven.
During the darkest season of my life, what I missed most was laughter.
“Please God.
Just let me laugh again.”
When laughter returned, life-energy returned with it.
What kept moving through my life was a desire to become whole — not polished, perfect, or merely put together. Whole.
Coaching gave me language for what I had already been living: perception, moods, zones, human ability, and the practice of personal excellence.
Becoming is not pretending.
It is aligning with the next true expression of who you are.

The diagnostic framework emerged — making patterns in human ability, perception, and alignment visible.

The work expanded through coaching, books, speaking, professional development, and transformational leadership.
A room full of women. Healing. Possibility. Something in me came fully alive there — and the work became unmistakably global and communal.
The relationships formed in Durban opened a door to the United Nations in New York. I walked those halls as a witness, a presence, and a woman being prepared for a wider assignment.
In 2024, The PEP Institute™ became the organized expression of work that had been forming for decades.
Today, the Personal Excellence Profile™ provides the diagnostic infrastructure for understanding how identity, perception, human capability, decisions, and action are operating beneath leadership and results.
The runway taught me to see presence.
The work now helps people and organizations see alignment.
Twelve human abilities. Eight frequency zones. A current-state view of what is operating beneath decisions, communication, relationships, leadership, and results.
Not a personality test. The Personal Excellence Profile™ makes patterns in perception, human capability, and alignment visible — so they can be understood, developed, and recalibrated.
White represents resonance with truth, love, knowing, and wholeness. It sits beyond numerical measurement, yet is recognizable in how a person lives, chooses, relates, and leads.
The zones reflect current-state patterns, not permanent identity. The purpose is not to label the person. It is to see what is operating clearly enough to move.
This is the diagnostic layer beneath Human Alignment. It gives language to what leaders, teams, and individuals often feel but cannot yet clearly see.
“Beyond miraculous. We’re creating a program for you to work with our high-potential women.”

I have always been interested in what is already present within a person — their capacity, perception, wisdom, identity, and possibility.
My work is to see it, name it, develop it, and create structures that help it become usable. That is what I mean by being an educer of excellence.
The spiritual gives the work depth. The scientific gives it discipline. The strategic gives it direction.Four books tracing the evolution of my work across image, identity, grief, personal excellence, and becoming.
